MY New Years Resolution - No More Messages from Politicians

I don't know about everyone else but last year seemed to be the year for messages. Messages from the politicians, at work there were messages from Ministers and heads of this and heads of that. Even further afield all the world illustrious leaders seem to be pouring them down every one's neck. I see a headline today that Nick Clegg has given a New Years Message which will shortly be followed by others speaking equally meaningless drivel from whichever political party they purport to represent.

At my place of work last year, every week a different one was coming down. Sorry folks, we are cutting this and cutting that but hey, we have to do it it is all to the good, we feel your pain and we value you!.....Yeah right ;)

I see that Mr Cameron went out to see the troops in Afghanistan before Christmas. I laughed! After a year of redundancy notices, budget cutting exercises where their allowances and terms and conditions have all been ripped up, I think morale is pretty damn low. I wonder what was the thinking behind his visit? Well, I am SURE *she says in a sarcastic tone* it made them feel better :/
However, I know one thing, my healthy New Years resolution is to avoid all of those meaningless, patronising messages next year......
If I want my head pecked...I shall go watch a woodpecker ;)

You sound a little irate today?........:(

the messages to which you refer are simply their way of assuring you that they are doing their job?.... there is no other benchmark?.... how else would you be able to tell if they were paying attention to the worlds problems?......

Camerons visit to Afganistan was simply to make sure that there was enough targets left out there for the worlds nutters after the redundancies without resorting to murderous attacks at the new years sales!.......:((

Should you require your head pecking you only have to ask & I shall spare the hour to oblige!......:))

That photo of him making the visit really annoyed me.

They are so out of touch with people and how their actions and decisions affect people!

Hi Peter, I hope you had a lovely time too. Green woodies in your garden? The Green Woodpecker has been put on this earth to taunt me ;) I have never yet managed a photo ~ not for the want of trying either. I look forward to not paying attention to words in Westminster as well, I think 12 weeks should just about see me getting much less exposure ;)

Andy, irate moi? Nah just that other twin after the nicey, nicey posts of late. As for your reply ~ well my dear there is one thing that can always be relied upon ~ your cynicism and sarcasm is always a notch above mine, LOL. However, at least you are not yelling at Inland Revenue adverts on the radio yet;)

Cherie, I think some places teach a removal from any emotion or compassion when making decisions ~ together with a high dose of arrogance.I have seen the results throughout my career (probably you too?). I can only assume that Eton teaches those same qualities......sometimes I think it is necessary but, in my experience, the best leaders are always those that are also tempered with a little compassion and humanity too. I think it comes down to that time honoured word "respect" :D
