Christmas Advent Magic - Day 10

Now this one isn't just magic, it is a blooming miracle ~ do excuse the pun! Those of you that know me will also know that I am not very methodical, I don't work to schedules and I kill houseplants with neglect! I am notoriusly bad with anything indoors because I either overwater it or forget to water it for weeks. This one is now on it's third year and every time it flowers, I am stunned by it's resilience in my awful care.

Thank you to Andy for the lovely photo and thank you plant for being so beautiful despite my dreadful ministrations!

It is very pretty.

Like you I am useless with house-plants so I avoid them now.

These plants are nearly bombproof (from my experience).

When we moved into the last house (a renovation project) the owners had left behind an enormous Christmas Cactus which was HUGE - unwieldy and ugly and overgrown. I hacked it back severely and was rewarded every year thereafter with beautiful and bountiful blooms!!

Sorry, I'm sure the beautiful plant is because of your green fingers and careful ministrations :-)

i have a black thumb of death when it comes to plants :p cacti are pretty much the only thing i can't kill lol
maybe its doing so well because of the bad care?

I hate to tell you this, but they love awful care, and are more prone to die due to too much tlc (water) than anything else. I often let mine get slightly shrivelly before I notice them, poor things. Aren't they wonderful!
