Skywatch Friday - Pink Tree

Haha, now that is different isn't it? For my regular visitors, this one is a good one for the theme of who's art is it anyway?

I can tell you it is the art of Phillipa Lawrence called Bound, Croft. It is a diseased Oak tree wrapped in cotton and I think last year it was red. However, after a year in the elements, it has turned a striking pink...especially against such a blue sky!

Other Skywatch images can be found here. Happy SWF :-)

It can be seen at Croft Castle as part of the Meadow Arts Commission 2009.

Striking isn't it?.... Talking of striking I think maybe Phillipa could do with being struck?....

Good capture mind you! and perfect DOF!.....:)

ROFL, I don't think my babe really appreciates the more abstract side of art despite my best efforts at education.
I am not sure I went with this bonding with trees lark myself...despite being quite a tree hugger. But, it is a statement!

That's just plain weird. I think, maybe like andy, I do prefer my trees 'au naturel', dead or alive, but interesting, yes.

oh my, I've never seen anything like that. Ever. I wonder if the cloaking is a way to try to restore the tree to health? Very interesting indeed!

A very striking photograph but I have to tell you that it is kind of creepy, in a positive artsy kind of way.
