Food for the Soul

I decided to make the very most out of the day and took the opportunity to watch the birds in my own garden which is a rare occurence. We are lucky enough to have three bullfinches visiting right now, for most of the winter in fact.

I also went for a walk around Severn Valley, it was nice to relax. There were the usual mallards and swans but the Mandarin pair popped in too :D

I envy you your bullfinches! Mandarin ducks are so lovely - I know the female isn't as colourful but she's just as beautiful. I'm glad you went and did something nice :)

Thanks! I love seeing your bird pics. To me, they look so exotic because we don't have them here (except in zoo's). They are quite pretty.

aren't those finches the most adorable little creatures?? so fortunate you are that they are your neighbors, at least for a short while!

Thanks Lana :)

Cheers Holly, he is a poser isn't he?

Thanks Nicole.

Elvira, how right you are, someone once told me that they look painted and I do think that they do :)

Bird, I think the female looks beautiful, shy almost in comparison. Thanks for that, I have had a lovely couple of days :)

Ingrid, the bullfinches are very vibrant, I don't think I do them justice. We are quite lucky to have them in our garden.

PD, you know I don't know whether they stay, I need to check out if they are resident.

Cherry Pie, it was a stunningly gorgeous day, as was this morning when I got my macro lens out for the first time in ages :)
