Festive Altered CD

I haven't been making very much in the way of art. For various reasons I have been quite unfit lately, with this mild weather and rain, everyone is going down with bugs and colds including me. Besides, that which I did manage to do is all related to christmas presents one way or another!
So I have been taking it easy and just making a few cards for Christmas.
But, before I got struck down with the lurgy (again), I did eventually get around to doing this altered CD. I keep planning to take a few into the office to add a little festive spice but I keep forgetting to take it off my craft wall.

Which, incidentally is another story. My craft wall was getting rather busy, this is a shot back in September and as you can see I was running out of available space. Strangely, you can see that the CD was just covered in paper hanging around for me to make a decision as to what I was going to do with it!

I wonder if anyone else shelves projects for ages! Anyway, since this image, I recently had to replace my pin board with one of slightly (ahem!) larger proportions!

You sure have "a way" with CD's Chrissy. I'm sorry to hear you haven't been well. I've just recovered from having shingles which was by far more painful than having chickenpox ever was.

I'm busy trying to get the sweater I'm knitting for my niece completed before Christmas arrives. That's the extent of the crafts I have had time to do this year, aside from the 3 dozen little felt teddy bear Christmas tree ornaments I completed in October, and had ready for the school kids Christmas craft fair this past weekend. The sale went very well and my little teddys were all sold in the first 45 minutes so I know what to make next year.

We still have one more shipment to complete. Then we can take a breather from the studio and I can clean and decorate the house. I'm really looking forward to making wreaths this year with my girfriends. It's our thing that we do together before the family descends and the holiday merry making begins.

Best wishes to you in all you do.

P.S. I'm linking to my new blog in case you have the time to check it out.

P.P.S. The Turkmenian owl is gorgeous. He's so lifelike that it's blows me away.

Hi TT, good to see you but sorry to hear you have had shingles. I had that as a teenager and it was really not nice.
Felt teddies sounds lovely, I am really not very good at sewing small intricate things! It is a busy time for sure but getting together and making wreaths sounds lovely and festive :D

Your new blog is lovely, it has an air of peace ~ a little different!

Best wishes to you too :D

Hi Lana, glad you like the CD, good fun to make something a little different.

You have such truly original ideas - I love this creation! If you have been making more I would so love to see them. Your embellishments are completely adorable. Honestly Chrissy, I think I am going to steal this idea for my next little rainy day project. I have a closet shelf full of unused CDs. What better way to give them a pretty new purpose? You are so inspired!!
