A year ago - this week

So it will be Halloween this week and sometimes I am amazed at how quickly time flies. This card was made today using my painted wizard image printed off onto glossy photo paper.

The paper used was DCWV "Once upon a time" and I used ribbon and brads from my stash. The little spell book is a Jolees.
A year ago this week is when I made my first ever card. At that time I hadn't done any crafting before, I couldn't take a photograph to save my life and I hadn't drawn or painted anything other than an occasional dabble for years!
So this week I have had a smile at all my lovely comments. Thank you all for your encourgement. I wouldn't have believed that making a few greetings cards would have ever have taken me on such a journey.
I leave you with the first card I ever uploaded to Docrafts on 30 Oct last year...

How funny is that? :)

Amazing wizard card ... a;so I'm amazed you've only been making cards for a year. I think your first card is lovely - we shouldn't put ourselves down for the first cards we made cos every card is a product of love plus what we know how to do at the time :-)I still look back fondly at my first cards even though they are v different from what I would make now, as I had so much pleasure making and giving them
Hugs

Hello Chrissy - just found you on Blogcatalog where you said something kind days and days ago, just got my head out of the clouds long enough to see it and find you :)

It's good fun to look back and see how far you've come when you are doing something creative, I'm often amazed at the difference even a little time can make. I love the idea of a smoking wizard, your one is great fun! No smoking ban in this world can hold back a wizard worth his salt :D

Thank you all for your lovely comments. Pauline, you are right of course about the early cards being equally good in their own right and I have made so many with a lot of feeling over the year.
I still am amused by my early ones probably because I managed to put them together with so little stash!

We grow and progress and therefore inevitably change.
However, not only do we progress craft/art wise but it all lead me into blogging.
So thanks to you all because there are now so many people that I consider to be friends here :)
Oh and my stash has grown a little!!!
kden, bird and rosie, thanks very much for taking the time to leave comments on your first visit :)
Bird, you made me laugh "No smoking ban in this world can hold back a wizard worth his salt" Indeed :D

God, you are talented, so amazing. I've loved watching the Wizard come to life. He is STUPENDOUS. He reminded me of henry (soulmerlin). His face (in the finished painting) looks more like a photograph than a painting it is so real. You are truly gifted Chrissy. Hugs and love, Robin
